SUMMARY:Workshop on Knowledge Management for Health Care in Sudan  wit
 h the theme “Linking Practice, Evidence and Performance.”
DESCRIPTION:The workshop will examine theoretical and practical issues
  in the implementation of knowledge management concepts and techniques
 , as well as innovative ideas and experiences that are relevant to the
  context of developing countries. In particular, we will look into cas
 e studies that demonstrate how knowledge management strategies that ha
 ve been applied and the lessons learned, with special interest on know
 ledge management initiatives which are lightweight and those that allo
 w incremental adoption, and with emphasis on systematic learning from 
 experience. The outcomes for participants are ideas and perhaps action
  points on wide range of questions such as:\n\nWhat are the categories
  of knowledge and the nature of knowledge-intensive activities in heal
 thcare; aspects of performance in healthcare delivery; social practice
 s of knowledge acquisition and sharing; that are significant for impro
 ving health outcomes?\nWhich challenges and opportunities in healthcar
 e such as those related to knowledge content and capability transfer, 
 performance results tracking mechanisms, technology and support infras
 tructure, healthcare structures and communities of practice, that have
  an impact on  healthcare decision making?\nHow can healthcare profes
 sionals tailor, use, and extend techniques and tools from knowledge ma
 nagement and organisational learning for improving their healthcare pr
