 imates indicate that one-third of the food produced globally is lost o
 r wasted and never consumed. This course strengthens your insights and
  skills to reduce food loss and waste (FLW). During the course, we wil
 l critically analyse the crop supply chain, look beyond the symptoms o
 f FLW, and design for strategies contribution to a more sustainable fo
 od system. We will pay special attention to the drivers of FLW, the bu
 siness case to reduce it, simple and advanced technologies, and the ec
 onomic impact of food loss and waste reduction. But also the role and 
 responsibilities of the various stakeholders will be addressed, the di
 fficulty of consumer behavior change, and how to create a conducive po
 licy environment and an actively involved private sector. In this inte
 ractive training of lectures, discussions, group work and field trips,
