SUMMARY:Course on Making agriculture work for food and nutrition secur
 ity with fellowship opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Recent research shows that improving nutrition from the he
 alth domain only nor from the agricultural domain only brings sufficie
 nt progress, but that progress will be highest at the intersection of 
 agriculture, health and nutrition. Agricultural programs and policies 
 need to become nutrition sensitive to increase the availability and ac
 cessibility and consumption of diverse and nutritious foods.This cours
 e focus on how agricultural programs and policies can become nutrition
  sensitive to achieve the nutrition objectives. In addition, we will e
 xplore the different agricultural pathways leading to food and nutriti
 on security. Experts will facilitate the course to provide you with th
 e knowledge and skills to design and strengthen the implementation of 
 nutrition sensitive agricultural programs and policies. The course is 
 highly interactive, building on the participant’s own experiences an
 d cases. Course objectives Upon completion of the course you will:\n\n
 understand the definitions of food systems, value chains, food securit
 y, nutrition security and their interconnectedness;\nbe able to apply 
 conceptual frameworks to ensure nutrition sensitive agricultural devel
 opment programs and policies;\nhave strengthen your competence in the 
 design and implementation of agricultural development programs and pol
 icies to enhance the impact on nutrition.\n\nEntry requirementsApplica
 nts should have a BSc or equivalent in the field of agriculture, food 
 and nutrition security, health, or a related field, and have at least 
 three years of professional experience in governmental or local non-go
 vernmental organisation as a policy or planning officer, or a managing
  or co-ordinating position in one of the field related to the course.
