DESCRIPTION:In this course participants can broaden their internationa
 l experience and strengthen their competencies to support seed sector 
 development, taking an integrated perspective. The overall objective o
 f the programme is to enhance the capabilities to translate the ISSD c
 oncept into strategies for making seed programmes and policies that se
 ek enhancement by connecting to present practices. The training is exp
 erience-based and task-oriented and highly interactive. It includes le
 ctures, visits to different Dutch seed companies and organisations, ca
 se studies, group discussions, assignments and field work.\nUpon compl
 etion of the course you will:\n\nbe able to support farmer groups in t
 aking an entrepreneurial approach towards seed production and trade;\n
 know how to strengthen private and public functions in seed sector dev
 elopment;\nknow how to address through partnerships and innovation ins
 titutional bottlenecks in the seed sector;\nunderstand how internation
 al agreements impact on domestic seed policies, seed laws and regulato
 ry frameworks;\nunderstand the opportunities for putting the ISSD-conc
