DESCRIPTION:This course is devoted to analyzing plant genetic resource
 s policies and their impact on conservation and use. It aims to suppor
 t policymakers and other stakeholders in implementing policies and dev
 eloping appropriate management strategies ex situ and in situ.\nUpon c
 ompletion of the course you will:\n\nunderstand current perspectives, 
 concepts and strategies regarding the conservation and use of genetic 
 resources;\nbe able to apply genetic resources management strategies w
 hich covers aspect of gene bank management and on-farm management;\nbe
  familiar with the history and contents of international agreements, i
 n particular the CBD, IT-PGRFA, WTO-TRIPS and UPOV;\nbe able to implem
 ent the International Treaty and the Nagoya Protocol, including the Tr
 eaty’s  Multilateral System, its Standard Material Transfer Agreeme
