 es of the conference are:\n\nTo create an international platform for s
 tudents and youth to exchange ideas and experiences in the field of cl
 imate change research and the role of indigenous knowledge systems in 
 climate change adaptation and mitigation;\nTo facilitate the building 
 of a sustainable Young African Scientists Network on Climate Change re
 search initiative;\nTo inform the formulation of the African Young Sci
 entists Initiative on Climate Change (AYSICC) based on indigenous know
 ledge systems.\n\nThe conference themes are:\n\nThe Role of Indigenous
  Knowledge Systems in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation;\nClima
 te change and vulnerable groups (women, children, disabled, etc,);\nCl
 imate change, food security and health;\nClimate change, Migration and
  social conflicts;\nClimate change, land, water and other natural reso
 urces management;\nClimate change and biodiversity management and cons
 ervation.\n\nThe conference provides students and youth with the oppor
 tunity to present their research papers at an international level. Int
 erested students and youth should submit an abstract of at least 250 a
 nd not more than 300 words by 31 May 2011 preferably per email to clim
 ateiks(at)gmail.com, copy to kayah.kaya(at)nwu.ac.za and ankeweisheit(
 at)web.de. Students, who like to apply for travel grand, should be max
